Den and New Wood Floor

Hello!  We recently removed the carpet from our den and replaced it with wood laminate from Lowes and we couldn't be happier with the results.  The room is approximately 12 x 12 and the total cost was around $200.  Not too bad.  Originally, I wanted to remove the carpet and refinish what I thought was hardwood underneath.  But sadly, that wasn't the case.  We were surprised to find the entire room was plywood, not just around the staircase.  However, we like this floor much better.  :)<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; Den Updates

Hello!  It's been quite a while since I've posted anything about our den and there has been a lot of changes since that post so I thought I'd share them today.<br /><br />This is the room we all spend the most time in, other than the kitchen, as this is where the TV is.  :) It's also always been the room that I tend to put everything that I don't love as far as furniture goes but I wanted to change that since we do spend a lot of time in here.  First thing I did was get rid of our old TV stand.  I hated it.  And when you're looking at the TV, you can't help but see the stand it's on so I wanted something pretty to look at. <br /><br />Hubby found an old fashioned dresser so I removed the top two drawers, cut the center wood brace (to allow for the DVD and cable box), painted it, distressed it and changed the hardware to come up with this.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5L8KBRMZGfGLEdT3P-vndG7HhUtRyLfkcuy2dLTjbi2K_YNF52DMZ0QsRF5FzA2qI6KU71__BDivtU4BXA7ardAkEvsUiKqBjqOMz37EuIdEhBySkTpNewvkZPGaqyZihAxbfiCgcLJIA/s1600/008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5L8KBRMZGfGLEdT3P-vndG7HhUtRyLfkcuy2dLTjbi2K_YNF52DMZ0QsRF5FzA2qI6KU71__BDivtU4BXA7ardAkEvsUiKqBjqOMz37EuIdEhBySkTpNewvkZPGaqyZihAxbfiCgcLJIA/s1600/008.JPG" /></a></div><br />It was a long awful winter and I really was tiring of the plain white curtains we had so I bought these lovely cheerful ones at Target.  I don't think I've ever loved a curtain so much.  :)<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2nn7-XVTGIT3UZy0Ne3leqmnSzBp4hfpS-ze_m2h141nyBHZLrF_uAybb3lslsj4YGrWN2MO8jsS-uzZCTe3U8WGlKQfV1P9FSIe8gy57o9LmXmz0bK8XGN0UfmrlY5cTdZCq4geXu60p/s1600/009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCTQANFw1yfAXbqB06ibnELzucMH_fQKcZVVOS57XQ5NtHO7htMJB_aCikmpH0os3vlTvlWHoJwt33g9NpIGX_tkrqfN-kEXf_AZZXede4tQ32UyUEv-a4Ew__69gtKwRKdTesy4gmUqRE/s1600/010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; text-align: center;"></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguqpYtHd9nKJpLBobwll0devlLXb4yohIZynlDDJ81gwbKVnX9k5ofjNsauL8lkBuV5TStflzAlwTe78d2GM0xZi1ACZgNUV6pD9ncge6D0M0U3ApDEyrOQP_wgMSjQrKAfdHknCGsisvb/s1600/011.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW9JNWatZgrVhD-GaEfkx0_1KzSoTOEYrHcmoVBRxutD4kE-exq1fSV3Pp812vuM8fFYkXBAoJH7KY2CyCIoR583zqtWKD_vRLZzlQ_MgNgnoV9QOYrrK7FaeevJb0fHvEXUGnQ5YNFksy/s1600/013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; Fall Sneak Peek

Hey there!  I just couldn't hold out any longer.  I'm so anxious for fall decorating that I decided to spruce up a little corner in the den for the upcoming change in season.  I was inspired by this gorgeous, dark green throw at Ikea.  The rich dark color is perfect for fall and the cozy blanket invites you to snuggle up with it and watch a good movie with someone you love.  I just had to have it!  I thought it would be perfect with our white arm chair in the den.<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMwn16OINvXmCWTq2zxf1mA_o_pmA9ZT-c5Pr4ZaiuPLTOnD1mNL8xpUyjuTnrmiFJOiLmi5egmDv1VHjPeVrY0qUHRjDn8nth5amsdkahPQ6Y3lPLGs5wX3CjLslvNgfwPbdZfO4cjQM/s1600/P1000956B.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em;
